Mission

KLAMATH FILM

“To build, promote, and support an industry of filmmaking in and around Klamath Falls, Oregon while connecting our community to film.”

Klamath Film, a 501(c)(3) located in Klamath Falls, Oregon, was established in 2012 to support a culture of filmmaking in Southern Oregon. In 2013 Klamath Film began the Klamath Independent Film Festival – an annual mid-September multi-day celebration of Made-in-Oregon independent films.

Today Klamath Film serves as the film liaison office for Klamath County – helping coordinate film productions throughout the Southern Oregon region. Klamath Film can help with location scouting, auditions, permits, crew calls, and much more.

CELEBRATING FILM

Klamath Film coordinates special film screenings throughout the year, including our ever-popular Oscar-nominated Shorts program always held right before the annual Academy Awards. Whenever possible we host filmmakers for question-and-answer sessions with our audience.

The Klamath Independent Film Festival has become renowned as the premier Oregon-centric film fest, celebrating filmmaking in Oregon and Northern California.

NETWORKING

To help aspiring filmmakers and actors, Klamath Film hosts monthly membership meetings, offering networking opportunities for upcoming projects, a chance to screen recently completed videos, and each month connect with a different featured guest from the film industry for an “Ask Me Anything” session.

As work opportunities come up Klamath Film is the first to announce auditions, crew calls, or commercial production needs for our membership. Looking for video work? Klamath Film maintains relationships with clients so that our members are the first to know when a job is needed.

EDUCATION

Klamath Film hosts an annual film camp – the Klamath Film Youth Film Fellowship – in partnership with the Southern Oregon University Digital Cinema Studies program. Intended for teens and beginning filmmakers, the film camp teaches the basic fundamentals of filmmaking with an emphasis on utilizing tools readily available around the home to make short films on your own.

Each year students not only collaborate to create their own film projects, but some get selected to showcase at the annual Klamath Independent Film Festival too!

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Klamath Film is a part of the greater Klamath community, and we collaborate often with groups to bring events to life. Whether livestreaming events, tech assistance, promotion, or education outreach, Klamath Film is ready to help. We speak often with students about filmmaking and careers in the film industry, and work closely with venues and organizations to enhance and enrich the Klamath arts scene.
