Klamath Film presents Virtuosa Society livestream concert experience

Klamath concert to be live-streamed globally

Klamath Film has partnered with the Ross Ragland Theater for a unique multimedia concert experience being livestreamed around the world in celebration of female music composers on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 12:30 p.m. at the Ross Ragland Theater in Klamath Falls.

Virtuosa Society is a duo collaboration between classically trained opera singer and former Miss America Katie Harman, a Klamath Falls resident, and Christine Eggert, pianist, of Copenhagen, Denmark. The pair shared a love of classical music and found extraordinary stories of remarkable women who accomplished extraordinary things in music yet were often subject of discrimination along racial and gender biases.

The concert will profile various female composers throughout history, matching video profiles with liver performance. The concert will be a mid-day performance to allow viewers from around the globe to tune in live to the Ross Ragland Theater stage, with the livestream being provided courtesy of Klamath Film.

Following the concert, the archived livestream video will also be available for on-demand viewing. Access to the livestream as well as a limited supply of tickets to the Ross Ragland Theater are $35. Since this event is a cross-partnership among multiple entities, no discount for Klamath Film membership will be available. We apologize.

The mission of the Virtuosa Society is to bring female composers and compositions to the forefront of history. They share the stories and groundbreaking efforts that helped shape the future of music, also serving as a launching pad for the advocacy of more female-composed pieces to be regularly programmed by major symphony orchestras, opera and theater companies.

The Virtuosa Society concert is the latest in an expanding partnership between Klamath Film and the Ross Ragland Theater to provide livestreaming services for various events held at the Ross Ragland. Earlier this year Klamath Film presented the eighth annual Klamath Independent Film Festival, for the first time offering the annual fest both in-person and online with a multitude of livestream events.
