Dennis Cozzalio, a Lakeview and Klamath Falls-raised writer and prominent national film critic, to join Klamath Film for its September member meeting on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 6 p.m.

Klamath Film’s September member meeting returns to in-person get-togethers and will again also be online via Zoom. The meeting is free and open to the public. Join us on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 6 p.m. to network with other filmmakers, actors, and film fans in Southern Oregon, hear about upcoming film production and work opportunities, and meet our featured guest. There will also be an in-depth preview of plans for the 10th annual Klamath Independent Film Festival.

 We will be returning to in-person meetings (though you may still join via Zoom if you prefer) at a new location. Join us in the back room at Retro Room Records – 3255 Washburn Way #7, Klamath Falls.

Lakeview-raised national film critic Dennis Cozzalio

Dennis Cozzalio was raised in Lakeview and Klamath Falls, Ore. He attended the University of Oregon, majoring in film studies, and was involved in the production of National Lampoon’s Animal House when it was shot at the UO in 1977. He was involved in the production of the documentary “Animal House of Blues” with Katherine Wilson — last month’s featured guest. That film will screen at the 10th annual Klamath Independent Film Festival opening night.

As the feature writer of the acclaimed film blog “Sergio Leone and the Infield Fly Rule” as well as a regular film critic contributor with publications such as Slate and Trailers From Hell, Cozzalio is a respected voice among film critics and a freelance writer in high-demand. 

When not writing about film, he has spent the past 30 years as a subtitle editor for Captions, Inc. He resides in Glendale, Calif.
