Klamath Film student film camp completes with multiple finished productions

Student films to be included in the 11th annual Klamath Independent Film Festival

Klamath Film held its fourth annual Klamath Film Youth Film Fellowship Aug. 7-11 at Klamath Community College – a FREE week-long film camp designed for middle school and high school area youth to learn basic filmmaking skills. The camp was fully funded by the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation and Juan Young Trust, and with support from Klamath Community College.

A total of 14 students participated this year, along with several volunteers and instructors providing a fun, engaging experience learning film history, script-writing, cinematography, editing, acting, lighting, and more. Students wrote, acted, filmed, and edited their own films, some of which will be screened during the student film category of the 2023 Klamath Independent Film Festival Sept. 22-24 at the Ross Ragland Theater in Klamath Falls, OR.

Congratulations to the newest Klamath County filmmakers — we look forward to seeing more of your ideas come to life! You can see their work at this year’s Klamath Independent Film Festival!
