Court Cannick named new Klamath Film Executive Director

Former Klamath Film Vice-chair takes over leadership role from Kurt Liedtke, Cassidy Quistorff named Assistant Executive Director

Klamath Film announced the hire of a new executive director – Court Cannick – effective January 2022.
Court has been a member of the Klamath Film Board of Directors for over a year, rising to the position of Vice-Chair. An exhaustive statewide search netted several viable candidates for the position, vacated by Kurt Liedtke in September following his hire of a full-time video production position.

Kurt Liedtke had served in the position since January 2020, taking over for Jesse Widener who had led the organization for eight years. During Liedtke’s tenure Klamath Film expanded its education offerings, scale of the annual Klamath Independent Film Festival, increased revenue, grew community partnerships, and established livestreaming as a service. Liedtke will still be involved in the organization going forward, as after resigning as Executive Director he has since been appointed to the Klamath Film Board of Directors.

Court Cannick is a filmmaker and musician who moved to Klamath Falls several years ago. He is also a part-time astronomy instructor at Klamath Community College.

In addition to Court’s ascension to a leadership role, Cassidy Quistorff has also been hired by Klamath Film to serve as Assistant Executive Director. Cassidy relocated to the Klamath Basin along with her husband from Tennessee for a position with the Bureau of Land Management. Cassidy is a filmmaker with a focus on environmental documentary work.
