Klamath Film’s July member meeting returns to in-person get-togethers and will again also be online via Zoom. The meeting is free and open to the public. The meeting is also offered simultaneously online now via Zoom.

Join us at The Growler Guys — 42001 Hwy 97, Klamath Falls. Site of the former Reames Country Club, The Growler Guys is an awesome new business in Klamath Falls featuring 60 beers on tap and great bar food in a relaxed setting.

Gary Lundgren
Gary has been making films since he was fourteen, but his official career began in editorial at Warner Brothers Hollywood in the late nineties.
In 2005, his first 35mm short film Wow and Flutter screened at more than forty film festivals world-wide, including Austin, AFI, Hamptons, Flickerfest and Gen Art in NYC. This success led to a feature film production — his award-winning baseball comedy Calvin Marshall (2010) starring Steve Zahn. He followed this with the tender drama Redwood Highway (2013) starring film legends Shirley Knight and Tom Skerritt.
In 2016, Joma Films launched a Kickstarter to finance the experimental, neo-noir indie Black Road, closely followed by his Lui-G Films boxing short Concrete Canvas.
Gary’s most recent feature is Phoenix, Oregon (2020). The mid-life crisis comedy stars James Le Gros, Jesse Borrego and Lisa Edelstein. Variety called it “the sort of movie a lot of us need right now.” The movie was released online by Aspiration Entertainment during the pandemic, after playing film festivals and touring the United States in 2019.

There will also be an in-depth review of the 10th annual Klamath Independent Film Festival (Sept. 16-18).
We will be returning to in-person meetings (though you may still join via Zoom if you prefer) at a new location. Join us in the back room at Retro Room Records – 3255 Washburn Way #7, Klamath Falls.

Portland-based filmmaker/editor James Westby
Dennis Cozzalio was raised in Lakeview and Klamath Falls, Ore. He attended the University of Oregon, majoring in film studies, and was involved in the production of National Lampoon’s Animal House when it was shot at the UO in 1977. He was involved in the production of the documentary “Animal House of Blues” with Katherine Wilson — last month’s featured guest. That film will screen at the 10th annual Klamath Independent Film Festival opening night.
As the feature writer of the acclaimed film blog “Sergio Leone and the Infield Fly Rule” as well as a regular film critic contributor with publications such as Slate and Trailers From Hell, Cozzalio is a respected voice among film critics and a freelance writer in high-demand.
When not writing about film, he has spent the past 30 years as a subtitle editor for Captions, Inc. He resides in Glendale, Calif.
