KIFF2021: 9th Annual Klamath Independent Film Festival
The Klamath Independent Film Festival continues its run as the leading all-genre, Oregon-centric film festival, presented for the second year both in-person and on-demand/livestreaming!
For the 2021 rendition we plan to be even bigger and better, expanding on last year's virtual offerings and more. With the COVID-19 pandemic continuing we are closely monitoring theater restrictions, but plan to continue our hybrid online festival presentation while bringing back our opening night street festival from 2019's KIFF. Last year's custom awards designed by local artists in the Southern Cascade Woodcrafters Guild will also return in 2021, along with a few new surprises.
The 2021 Klamath Independent Film Festival will once again be held at The Ross Ragland Theater in Klamath Falls, Ore., Sept. 17-19, 2021. Activities will include an opening Friday street festival and 10th anniversary reunion and screening of the Kelly Reichardt directed western "Meek's Cutoff," a day of feature films on Saturday, and a full slate of shorts on Sunday culminating with our festival awards - 47 Made-in-Oregon films in all!
Every on-stage event will be livestreamed, and all films will be available to view on-demand for an entire week (Sept. 17-26) with exclusive filmmaker Q&As online - all thanks to the Eventive Virtual Festival platform. Watch the entire festival from the comfort of home via computer, tablet, phone, Apple TV, or Roku.

5:00pm FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 17, 2021 - ROSS RAGLAND THEATER
Help us kick off KIFF2021 with food trucks, a beer garden, music courtesy Retro Room Records, virtual reality and games, a virtual filmmaker kickoff party (6 p.m. on the big screen), and the showing of two films: "Strut: 1980s" and "Project 88." Meet our sponsors, Klamath Film Board of Directors, and engage our filmmakers about their work.
There will have meat, veggie, and vegan options courtesy of the Mac & Cheese Truck, and Sagirita Tacos. Entry to the street party is covered by a Festival Pass or Friday Pass.
The street party will be followed by an introduction to the festival and our opening feature film, "Meek's Cutoff", a western filmed in Oregon by director Kelly Reichardt. Stick around afterwards for a 10th anniversary virtual cast reunion with screenwriter Jon Raymond and many of the actors in the film.
Group project by students in the 2021 Klamath Film Summer Film Camp - albeit with some missing footage. Students embark on a quest to find the thing needed to reopen the Ross Ragland Theater. Inspired by the film term that Alfred Hitchcock made famous.
Directed by Kurt Liedtke. Filmed in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
